Saving space
The PION units do not take up floor or wall space because they are primarily intended for the ceiling. How is it possible that by using infrared heating you actually save money? Simply, it is the most efficient way you can convert electricity into heat
The principle is rather simple: The electric current runs through the unit which has high resistance; this heats up the built-in resistor and via the heat-emitting panel emits infrared rays of the required wavelength. This radiation has a natural ability to penetrate objects significantly faster than the energy radiated by convection heating, such as gas or standard electric heaters or direct heaters. That is why about 80% of the heat gets absorbed by the objects in the room instead of being wasted with no effect through air circulation or through walls, floors or doors.
The new generation infraheating can thus consume 35-40% less energy than conventional convection heating systems. Unlike them PION does not waste energy on heating up air, which is a rather inefficient method of indoor heating, where most of the hot air accumulates below the ceiling, meanwhile the ground-level temperate stays colder, even by 10 degrees.
